Topsail Reflection

I got down low in the wet sand under the pier to get this shot, the way the whole structure reflects perfectly in the water, those lines just pulling you all the way through to the ocean, the blue of the sky peeking out the other side. The pier above, the pier below, perfectly mirrored in a moment that lasted seconds. I was so focused on getting it right that I almost didn't answer my phone when it buzzed. I'm really glad I did. Our realtor was calling to tell my husband and I that we got the house- our first home in Wilmington. So yeah, this one means a little more than just a pretty pier photo. Every time I look at it I'm right back in that moment, standing in the surf with wet feet and the biggest smile on my face.
